So where do you find these competitions?

If you’re new to entering competitions online you probably are wondering where people find so many competitions to enter, confused about all the different types and how to go about entering.

Well a simple start off is make sure you have an email address.  One just for competitions because you will find you get a lot of emails from companies newsletters, advertisements etc but also this is the way a lot of companies will contact you to let you know you have won a prize.   Usually a winning email subject will start with RE or congratulations, competition winner.

Now the the different ways you can enter competitions are on the internet, email, Twitter and Facebook, text/phone competitions or postcard ones.   I will post the links below on where you can find all these sort of competitions and the internet, email and twitter/facebook ones are completely free to enter and where I have some of my best wins such as New York holiday, designer shopping sprees and cash to name but a few.

My best prize to date has been an £11,000 car.  This was a very lucky postcard entry.   The ones you see advertised on Channel 5 between programmes where you can enter by phone, text or free postcard entry.  Well this was just one postcard with a 2nd class stamp! I won a car for less than 60p!   So it can be done.   I have won over £50k of prizes over the years and and apart from the odd postcard win or text competition win everything has been free from entering online and just with putting the hours in.

Now BEWARE of some sites which are just spam.  Be prepared if you enter competitions on myoffers, win4now, catalink etc that you will get a lot of junk emails and very little chance of winning so enter at your own risk.  Me personally I avoid!

So now onto the reliable sites and ones I use regularly.   My personal favourite is the moneysavingexpert forums.  Here you just click on the headline of the forum post and the link to the competition and usually the answer will be posted in the first link.  The numbers in the title are the closing date, ie 12/06 closes 12th June but some competitions close earlier so try and enter early if you can.  There is also a search box so you can look for certain things you want to win and at the bottom of the page you can sort into closing date.   http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=72

Another favourite of mine is Loquax forums.   I first joined this site back in 2001 and it’s completely free also and the forums sort competitions out into web, email, daily, text and phone.  The competitions on here are uploaded by the lovey users of the forum and there is a thanks button to track when you’ve entered competitions http://forums.loquax.co.uk/

Another site which is a new one but a goody is Competition Database.  It lists competitions on the homepage in order of ones closing the soonest http://www.competitiondatabase.co.uk

Finally The Prize Finder, they list competitions by closing date or categories of prizes http://www.theprizefinder.com/

All these sites you can register on and click thanks button or entered button to keep track of ones entered.  It’s very useful because a lot of competitions are one entry per person or per household so please keep track to make sure you don’t disqualify yourself.

Finally enter lots! A lot of people say I never win but when you ask how many competitions they enter and what to win you get a reply of 5 a week and just holiday and car competitions.  These can have thousands of entries and much harder to win even though it is done.    I enter on average 500 competitions a week a couple of hours a day and I enter for allsorts from DVDs, to CDs, to hampers, to cars.  Don’t just enter big, enter small to and most of all enjoy it

I hope to hear about your wins soon so comeback and let me know when you have started winning!

Good luck!!!!
